Bouncing Pool

Inspiration

Inspired by both the pool ball game and music bouncing ball game, my initial idea is to create a variant of the pool ball game, where objects would change their colors while bouncing around!

Design & Paper Prototype

Having the Cue Ball to be controllable, the player can adjust the aiming angle and bounce the Cue Ball by pressing the space bar.

The objects (pink cones and blue cubes) will change their colors to grey once got hit by the cue ball, and the Cueball will change to either pink or blue based on which object it hits.

Pink Cones and Blue Cubes will turn grey if they get hit!

Cue Ball will turn pink or blue depending on which object it hits. By using “Sequence”, to make multiple event hits on different cast to target work.

Challenges

Not sure why UE5 keeps having a crashing issue. Also once I close the project, it won’t be able to open again, which made me need to recreate everything over again if it crashed.

Next Steps

After solving the cueball control issue and the simulate physics/collision issues, the next goal is to adjust the physics setting to make the objects light enough to be bouncing around when the cueball jumps and runs around. Also, the next goal would be to make the shapes transform randomly at random times.
