Introduction

Envire is an immersive, third-person exploration game developed in Unreal Engine 5.4. Players guide a spherical Player through three elemental realms—Land, Water, and Air—each offering distinct spatial dynamics and sensory experiences. The game’s progression is non-linear and symbolic, emphasizing transformation and perception over traditional objectives.

Game Design

Inspired by the fluid transitions of natural elements, Envire structures its gameplay across three sequential levels:

Level 1 – Land:
A grounded terrain where gravity dictates movement. The environment is

maze-like, encouraging exploration and discovery.

Level 2 – Water:
Upon entering the water portal, the player experiences buoyancy, with movement becoming fluid and gliding. The ambiance shifts to a submerged, ethereal setting.

Level 3 – Air:
Transitioning to the air realm, gravity diminishes, allowing the avatar to drift freely in a vast, open space, symbolizing liberation and transcendence.

Game Setup

Game Mechanics

Perspective & Control:
Third-person view with adaptive controls tailored to environment’s physics.

Portals:
Seamless transitions between realms via visually distinct portals, each accompanied by unique audio-visual cues.

Environmental Triggers:
Invisible trigger boxes activate sensory effects like sparkles and smoke, serving as distractions and enhancing immersion.

Atmospheric Audio:
Each trigger is paired with custom sound cues, deepening the sensory experience.

Blueprint Implementation:
Core systems, including physics, triggers, and transitions, are developed using Unreal Engine’s Blueprint system for modularity and responsiveness.
