In Trace, the protagonist initially appears as a cellular orb attached to a skeletal statue. This being then leaps onto the pathway of cultural and societal development. As it observes the collapse of human civilization and ensuing disorder, the orb descends into water, transforming into a human form. Upon this transformation, the protagonist finds him/herself in another world distinct from the present reality and the world started to fall apart. Ultimately, the character is swallowed by darkness once more and transported into an unknown space. From the sound effects we could know that the whole experience is the dream of the protagonist before he/she dies.
